FREEDIVING SAFARI - EGYPT 2019 (5/7)

Loads of fun in shallow depths

After the morning dive at overcrowded Thistlegorm we moved to the wreck of Kingston at Shag Rock. The Kingston is a former 80m long steamship sunk in February 1881 with no loss of life after hitting the Shag Rock Reef.

The wreck is seething with life and the max depth is around 15 m together with lots of entrances and exits make it very accessible. Wonderful spot for photo shooting. As the boat was anchored on the opposite side of the reef, me and Tom Ka decided to swim there down the current which paid off. We met this beautiful turtle chilling out at 15 m, feeding on corals and not giving a damn about us. Eventually the current changed direction so we called the zodiac to pick us up.

Then we moved to Small Gubal island where we stayed overnight. The max depth here was again 15 m and we found a terrific coral garden with lots of moray eels. Really huge one with her flat mate were hanging out just under our boat. We took some pics of girls with another moray eel and finished the dive with bananas on our faces :)

Me and Kristýna went even for a night dive and it was the best decision ever. It was by far the best night dive I've ever had. The light from boats was so strong that we almost didn't need torches and the sea was busy with life even more. We saw shrimps, cuttlefish, moray eels seeking for prey, hunting lionfish and much, much more…

Then we joined AA group as every night and went to bed happy
