STATUE OF CHRIST & IMPERIAL EAGLE

Description

The statue of Christ is an underwater statue of Jesus Christ. It is 3 metres tall and stands on white sand in a natural amphitheater of rock at the depth of 35 m close to the wreck of MV Imperial Eagle approximately 500 m off the shore of Qawra Point.

Imperial Eagle used to serve as a ferry between Malta & Gozo with a capacity of 70 passengers and 10 cars until mid 1970'.

The wreck is about 45 m long, the maximum depth is 42 m, the deck is 32 m deep and the wreck is open for penetration.
