CIRKEWWA

Description

Cirkewwa is situated at the north of Malta island on the opposite part of the small peninsula where the Gozo ferry terminal is. This site is unique thanks to it's variability. The are two wrecks, cleaned and scuttled for divers, (Patrol Boat P-29 & tug boat Rozi) resting on the sandy bottom at 35 m, the reef is full of canyons and swim throughs. Marine life is really abundant here. You can meet groupers, jacks, octopuses, lobsters, moray eels and shoals of breams. Add average visibility of 30 m and one of the most popular sites in Malta. We can train deep diving close to the wrecks, freedive into the wrecks or just have fun on the reef exploring the swim throughs. This site keep you busy for more than one day.

Note

Very accessible depths from shore. There are 3 different entry/exit points, the water edge and the stairs might be very slippery. This site is very popular among the scuba divers as well so it can get very busy sometimes. Please, be considerate with scuba divers and behave well - many of them are beginners and can panic easily. The parking place at the spot is restricted for us, divers. It's mandatory to display your valid diving/freediving certificate behind the windshield of your car otherwise you'll get ticket.
